I really didn't start this with some big plan. I just realized I had all these pictures from places I've been, things I've found, trips we've taken, and little moments I didn't want to eventually forget.
Life looks a lot different for me these days. I've been learning how to slow down, find my peace again, and figure out what life looks like on my own terms. Somewhere along the way, getting in the car and just going became one of my favorite things to do. Sometimes I have a destination and sometimes I don't. I take the backroads, stop when something catches my eye, find somewhere to walk or hike, take way too many pictures, and usually come home with a story.
Exploring has become about more than just finding somewhere new. Sometimes I'm looking for a beautiful view or something cool hidden down a backroad. Sometimes I need to clear my head, sit somewhere quiet with my journal, or just remind myself how far I've come. I've learned that I actually really enjoy my own company, and there's something about having nowhere I have to be and no reason to rush home that gives me a kind of peace I didn't know I needed.
Some of what I put here will be fun. Some of it will probably be hard. Some of it may not mean much to anybody except me and the people I love — and that's kind of the point. The Nashville Nook is where I'm keeping all of it: the places I find, the pictures I take, our trips, the memories we make, and a little bit of the person I'm becoming along the way.
I want to be able to come back here years from now and remember
not only where I went, but who I was while I was there.
