Fireworks From the Streets of Nashville
July 4, 2026 • Downtown Nashville
My first Fourth of July in Tennessee, and Nashville definitely knows how to put on a show.
I didn't watch the fireworks sitting in one spot. I watched them riding through downtown with the sunroof open, and at some point I ended up sitting up through it with my phone in my hand taking picture after picture while fireworks filled the sky between the buildings.
And I took a lot of pictures.
I still don't know these streets nearly as well as I know the ones back home, and there are days I miss home so much it hurts. I'm still trying to figure out what my life here is supposed to look like and where exactly I fit into all of it.
But tonight was fun. For a little while I wasn't thinking about any of that. I was just looking up at fireworks over downtown Nashville thinking about how freaking cool it was that this was my Fourth of July this year.
Maybe that's what I need right now. Not to have everything figured out. Just to keep finding little moments that make being here feel a little less hard.
Right in the Middle of It
These pictures don't even really show what it felt like being right in the middle of downtown with fireworks going off everywhere. Between the buildings, the lights and the sky completely lit up, there was something to look at in every direction.
Sitting up through the sunroof gave me the best view, and once the fireworks really got going I pretty much just kept taking pictures.
I miss home like crazy, especially on holidays when I'm used to being around my family. But tonight was one of those nights when I could just enjoy where I was instead of wishing I was somewhere else.
Definitely not a bad way to spend my first Fourth of July in Nashville.
A Pretty Good Night
I came home with way too many pictures on my phone, which shouldn't surprise anybody.
I still miss home, and holidays definitely have a way of making that hit a little harder. But tonight was good. I got out, saw something beautiful, and made another memory here.
And somehow, I didn't even mind the two and a half hours it took to get out of downtown afterward. I sat in traffic going through all the pictures I'd taken and sending some of them to the kids so they could see how cool it was.
I think that's one of the things I miss the most about being away from them. When I find something cool or see something beautiful, they're still the people I immediately want to show.
I can miss home and my kids like crazy and still have nights here that I'm really glad I got to experience.
And this was definitely one of them.
