A Different Kind of Nashville Adventure
August 23, 2026 • Nissan Stadium
Not every adventure I've had since moving to Tennessee has involved hiking boots, backroads, or me wandering through the woods somewhere. Sometimes getting out and experiencing this new life has looked a little different.
This time it meant football.
It was a Titans preseason game, and since I love football anyway, I figured going to a game at Nissan Stadium was one of those Nashville things I needed to experience. I was still getting used to doing more things on my own and learning that I didn't need to wait around for somebody else before I went somewhere I wanted to go.
So I got ready, headed downtown, and made a night out of it.
Inside Nissan Stadium
Okay, this was pretty damn cool.
There's just something different about watching football in person. Even though it was only a preseason game, once I got inside and saw the field, the crowd, and everything going on around me, I was excited. Neither team playing was one of my teams, but I'm a football girl, so I was going to enjoy it regardless.
I took way too many pictures of basically the same thing because apparently that's what I do when I'm excited about something. But I wanted to remember it. The crowd, the field, the lights coming on as it got later, all of it.
It was another one of those reminders that I actually live here now. Nashville isn't somewhere I'm just visiting for the weekend. For however long this chapter lasts, this is where I'm making new memories, and getting to experience things like this is one of the good parts.
Nashville After Dark
I was in no rush to get back to the car
Walking out after the game ended up being one of my favorite parts of the night. Nashville looked completely different after dark. The stadium was lit up behind me, downtown was glowing across the river, and I wasn't really in a hurry to leave.
I've always loved city lights, so I stopped for a while and just took it all in. I still missed home, and at this point Tennessee definitely didn't completely feel like home yet. But I was starting to have moments here that felt like they belonged to me.
I think that's what I was slowly learning. I didn't have to suddenly love being away from home or pretend I wasn't lonely sometimes. I could still miss the life I had and make room for new memories at the same time.
Maybe I didn't have to love every part of being here yet to start finding things about it that I loved.
